Are negative keywords important? Yes they are. They are extremely important. Negative keywords are keywords put in place across your ad groups and campaigns to ensure people do not waste your budget looking for services or products that do not relate to your campaign.
Negative keywords should be used without a second thought. The most common negative keywords that I would add to a campaign before I even start the management process are the following:
I add these, as well as variants of them, as broad match negative keywords. Just adding these keywords will save you a lot of money. Step 1: Login to your Adwords Campaign and click on the keywords tab.
Step 2: Click on negative keywords.
Step 3: Select the campaign you want to add negative keywords to.
Step 4: List your negative keywords and save.
Remember to check your search terms often to get new ideas for negative keywords, and add them. You might end up with more negatives than normal keywords.
